“Face the Music” is the fifth studio album by Electric
Light Orchestra (ELO). It was released in September 1975 by United Artists
Records and on 14 November 1975 in the United Kingdom by Jet Records. The album
moves away from the large-scale classical orchestrated sound from the previous
album, “Eldorado”, in favor of more "radio-friendly" rock/pop songs,
though the string sections are still very prominent. The new sound proved
successful for the group as “Face the Music” was the first ELO album to go
platinum.
“Face the Music” este al cincilea album de studio al
trupei Electric Light Orchestra (ELO). A fost lansat in septembrie 1975 de
catre United Artists Records in Statele Unite si la 14 noiembrie 1975 de catre
Jet Records in Marea Britanie. Albumul se muta de la sunetul de larga scala orchestrat
clasic al albumului precedent “Eldorado”, in favoarea unuia mai prietenos
radioului/cantece rock-pop, desi sectiunea de corzi este in continuare destul
de proeminenta. Noul sunet a produs succesul pentru grup, “Face the Music”
fiind primul album ELO care primeste certificare de platina.
