“Pilgrimage” is the second studio album by the rock band Wishbone Ash. The album focuses more on folk and acoustic music as opposed to the blues rock sound that dominated the first album. The album also contains an instrumental jazz workout ("Vas Dis") and a four-part harmony vocal track in the spirit of Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young ("Valediction").

"Pilgrimage" este al doilea album de studio al trupei. Albumul se concentreaza mai mult pe folk si muzica acustica in opozitie cu sunetul de blues-rock poredominant de pe primul album. Albumul contine de asemenea o lucrare insstrumentala de jazz (Vas Dis) si o armonie vocala in patru parti in spiritul "Crosby, Stills, Nash&Young" (Valediction).

“In the Court of the Crimson King” (subtitled “An Observation by King Crimson”) is the debut studio album by English rock band King Crimson, released on 10 October 1969 by Island Records. The album is one of the first and most influential of the progressive rock genre, where the band combined the blues influences that rock music was founded upon with elements of jazz, classical, and symphonic music.
The album reached number five on the UK Albums Chart and number 28 on the US Billboard 200, where it was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. It was reissued several times in the 1980s and 1990s using inferior copies of the master tapes. After the original masters were discovered in the Virgin archives in 2003, the album was remastered again by Simon Heyworth and reissued in 2004. A 40th anniversary edition of the album was released in 2009 with new stereo and 5.1 surround sound mixes by Steven Wilson.

“A Farewell to Kings” is the fifth studio album by Canadian rock band Rush, released in September 1977 by Anthem Records. It was recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales.
In November 1977, “A Farewell to Kings” was one of three Rush albums to be certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America for selling 500,000 copies. The others were “2112” and “All the World's a Stage”.

Sfinx - Lume alba (album complet 1975)

“Lume alba” (uneori citat ca Lumea albă) este primul album de studio al formației rock românești Sfinx. Înregistrările au fost realizate în primăvara lui 1975, discul fiind publicat în același an. Reprezintă, alături de “Cantofabule” al formației Phoenix, unul din primele albume românești pe care se poate auzi sonoritatea unui sintetizator, dar și una dintre înregistrările timpurii cu un astfel de instrument (Sfinx înșiși experimentaseră în această direcție prima oară pe discul EP Coborîse primăvara). La acest disc a contribuit compozitorul, cântărețul și chitaristul Dan Bădulescu, la acea vreme cel mai nou membru al grupului (prezent însă și pe înregistrarea discului single în colaborare, “Glas de păduri”).
Pornind de la ideea lui Mișu Cernea, pe coperta discului apare un colaj de articole din presa vremii privitoare la Sfinx, deasupra cărora sunt așezate fotografiile celor patru membri ai formației. Pozele acestora sunt, la rândul lor, decupate dintr-o imagine mai mare, executată de fotograful Aurel Mihailopol pentru revista „Flacăra” la întoarcerea formației din R.D. Germană, unde participase alături de cântăreața Dida Drăgan la „Festivalul cântecului angajat” din Berlin și într-un turneu (desfășurate la începutul anului 1975). De vreme ce Dida Drăgan (cu care Sfinx a colaborat doar pentru o scurtă perioadă) apărea în fotografia lui Mihailopol între Bădulescu și Cernea, singura soluție găsită pentru a-i „alătura” pe cei patru a fost colajul (la o privire mai atentă, se poate observa și pe copertă o parte din mâneca Didei la Bădulescu). În plus, ordinea celor patru a fost schimbată pentru copertă.

Deep Purple - Shades of Deep Purple (Full album 1968)

“Shades of Deep Purple” is the debut studio album by the English rock band Deep Purple, released in July 1968 on Tetragrammaton in the United States and in September 1968 on Parlophone in the United Kingdom. The band, initially called “Roundabout”, was the idea of former Searchers drummer Chris Curtis, who recruited Jon Lord and Ritchie Blackmore before leaving the project. The Mk. I line-up of the band was completed by vocalist/frontman Rod Evans, along with bassist Nick Simper and drummer Ian Paice, in March 1968.
After about two months of rehearsals, “Shades of Deep Purple” was recorded in only three days in May 1968 and contains four original songs and four covers, thoroughly rearranged to include classical interludes and sound more psychedelic. Stylistically the music is close to psychedelic rock and progressive rock, two genres with an ever-growing audience in the late 1960s.
The album was not well received in the UK, where it sold very little and did not chart. In the US, on the other hand, it was a success and the single "Hush", an energetic rock track written by Joe South and originally recorded by Billy Joe Royal, became very popular at the time, reaching number 4 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. The good sales of the album and the intense radio play of the single contributed largely to the attention Deep Purple would get in their early US tours and also during the 1970s. Modern reviews of the album are generally positive and consider “Shades of Deep Purple” an important piece in the history of Deep Purple.

Shades of Deep Purple” este albumul de studio de debut al trupei engleze de rock Deep Purple, lansat in iulie 1968 la Tetragrammaton in Statele Unite si in septembrie 1969 la Parlaphone in Marea Britanie. Trupa, numita initial ‘Roundabout”, a fost ideea lui Chris Curtis, fost baterist la Searchers, care i-a recrutat pe Jon Lord si Ritchie Blackmore pentru proiect. Componenta Mk I a trupei a fost completata de vocalistul Rod Evans, impreuna cu basistul Nick Simper si bateristul Ian Paice, in martie 1968. 
Dupa circa 2 luni de repetitii, “Shades of Deep Purple” a fost inregistrat in numai 3 zile in mai 1968 si contine patru piese originale si patru preluari, complet rearanjate ca sa includa interludii clasice si un sunet mai psihedelic.  Stilistic muzica e mai aproape de rock-ul psihedelic si progresiv , cele doua genuri aflate in crestere la audienta spre sfarsitul anilor ’60.
Albumul nu a fost bine primit in Marea Britanie, unde vanzarile au fost foarte mici si nu a intrat in clasamente. In Statele Unite, pe de alta parte, a fost un succes si single-ul “Hush”, o piesa energica de rock scrisa de catre Joe South si initial inregistrata de Billy Joe Royal, a devenit foarte popular la acea vreme, atingand locul 4 in clasamentul Bilboard Hot 100. Vanzarile bune ale albumului si difuzarea intensa la radio a single-ului au contribuit la cresterea atentiei asupra trupei in turneele lor timpurii in Statele Unite si in anii ’70. Recenziile moderne ale albumului sunt in general pozitive si considera “Shades of Deep Purple” o piesa importanta in istoria Deep Purple.

The Nice - The Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack (Full album 1968)

“The Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack” is the 1968 debut album by the English psychedelic rock and progressive rock group the Nice. It is considered one of the first albums in the latter genre.
The name Emerlist Davjack is a pseudonym created by combining the last names of the four members of the group; Keith Emerson, David O'List, Brian Davison, and Lee Jackson.
The album was promoted by a sampler (featured on the Castle Communications 2000 box set "Here Come The Nice" (CMETD 055-1)) featuring a commentary by John Peel, which included the following comments:
“1967 was a strange year for pop music with groups experimenting with new sounds and bouncing on and off bandwagons with dizzying speed and agility. They were calling themselves ridiculous names and regretting it shortly. The Nice came together in a void and will be here when the others are in pantomime in Wolverhampton”.

“Selling England by the Pound” is the fifth studio album from the English progressive rock band Genesis, released in October 1973 on Charisma Records. It reached  No.  3 in the UK and  No. 70 in the U.S. A single from the album, "I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)", was released in February 1974 and became the band's first top 30 hit in the UK.
The album was recorded in August 1973 following the tour supporting the previous album, “Foxtrot” (1972). The group set aside a short period of time to write new material, which covered a number of themes, including the loss of English folk culture and an increased American influence, which was reflected in the title. Following the album's release, the group set out on tour, where they drew an enthusiastic reception from fans.
Critics and the band have given mixed opinions of the album, though guitarist Steve Hackett has said it is his favourite Genesis record. The album has continued to sell and has reached Gold certification by the British Phonographic Industry and the Recording Industry Association of America. It was remastered for CD in 1994 and 2007. Several of the album tracks became fan favourites and featured as a regular part of the band's live setlist into the 1980s.

Un single de pe album “IKnow What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)” a fost lansat in februarie 1074 si a devenit primul hit de top 30 al trupei in Marea Britanie.
Albumul a fost inregistrat in august 1973 urmand unui turneu de promovare a albumului anterior “Foxtrot”(1972). Grupul a stat linistit o perioada scurta de timp pentru a scrie noul material, care a acoperit un numar de teme, incluzand pierderea culturii populare engleze si cresterea influentei americane, care s-a reflectat in titlu. Dupa lansare, grupul a plecat in turneu unde au avut o receptie entuziasta din partea fanilor.
Criticii si trupa au avut pareri amestecate despre album, desi chitaristul Steve Hacckett a spus ca este inregistrarea lui favorite de la Genesis. Albumul a continuat sa se vanda si a atins certificarea de aur de la British Phonographic Industry si RIIA. A fost reimbunatatit pentru CD in 1994 si 2007. Cateva piese de pe album au devenit favoritele fanilor si au fost incluse in lista de concert in anii ’80.

Kansas - Kansas (Full album 1974)

“Kansas” is the debut studio album by American progressive rock band Kansas, released in 1974 by Kirshner in the United States and Epic Records in other countries.
Kansas's debut album followed the merging of two Topeka musical camps: Kerry Livgren, from a previous Kansas line-up, and White Clover, which played mainstream rock and blues. The newly formed group signed with Kirshner Records in 1973 and traveled to New York to record their first release.
The material on “Kansas”, written mostly by guitarist/keyboardist Livgren and vocalist/keyboardist Steve Walsh, had been culled from the repertoire of both groups. Livgren's songs were generally longer and more elaborate than Walsh's and featured mystical lyrics which reflected his intense interest in Eastern religions. "Journey from Mariabronn" was inspired by Hermann Hesse's “Narcissus and Goldmund”, while "Belexes" and "Aperçu" were influenced by the pseudo-Asian sound of Giacomo Puccini's “Turandot”.
“Kansas” was promoted by print advertisements which included the tagline "Kansas is Koming." A promotional 7-inch single titled "Man the Stormcellars: Kansas is Koming!" was sent to radio stations and featured Don Kirshner hyping the album. Two 7-inch singles were released: "Can I Tell You" and "Lonely Wind". Both failed to chart, though a live version of "Lonely Wind" (from the double-live album “Two for the Show”) did reach the Top 100 in early 1979. The album was reissued in remastered format on CD in 2004. A remastered version of the album appeared on vinyl in 2014.

Cantecele lui Livgren erau , in general, mai lungi si mai elaborate decat cele ale lui Walsh si prezentau versuri mistice care reflectau interesul puternic in religiile estice. “Journey from Mariabronn” a fost inspirat de “Narcis si Goldmund” a lui Hermann Hesse, in timp ce “Belexes” si "Aperçu” au fost influentate de sunetul pseudo asiatic din “Turandot” a lui Puccini.
