T. Rex – Greatest Hits (Vinyl, LP, Compilation 1978)

“T. Rex” were an English rock band, formed in 1967 by singer-songwriter and guitarist Marc Bolan. The band was initially called Tyrannosaurus Rex, and released four psychedelic folk albums under this name. In 1969, Bolan began to shift from the band's early acoustic sound to an electric one. The following year, he shortened their name to T. Rex. The 1970 release of the single "Ride a White Swan" marked the culmination of this development, and the group soon became a commercial success as part of the emerging glam rock scene.
From 1970 until 1973, T. Rex encountered a popularity in the UK comparable to that of the Beatles, with a run of eleven singles in the UK top ten. One of the most prominent acts in British popular culture, they scored four UK number one hits, "Hot Love", "Get It On", "Telegram Sam" and "Metal Guru". The band's 1971 album “Electric Warrior” received critical acclaim as a pioneering glam rock album. It reached number 1 in the UK. The 1972 follow-up, “The Slider”, entered the top 20 in the US. Following the release of "20th Century Boy" in 1973, which reached number three in the UK, T. Rex began to experience less commercial success but continued recording one album per year.
In 1977, Bolan died in a car crash several months after the release of the band's final studio album “Dandy in the Underworld”. Since then, T. Rex have continued to exert a vast influence on a variety of subsequent artists.

Unul dintre cele mai proeminente acte in cultura populara britanica a fost compunerea a 4 hituri de locul 1 in Marea Britanie, “Hot Love”, “Get It On”, “Telegram Sam” si “Metal Guru”. A atins locul 1 in Marea Britanie. Urmatorul album din 1972 ,“The Slider”, a intrat in top 20 in Statele Unite. Dupa lansarea albumului “20th Century Boy” in 1973, care a atins locul 3 in Marea Britanie, T. Rex a inceput sa aiba mai putin succes commercial, dar a continuat sa inregistreze cate un album pe an.
In 1977 Bolan a murit in accident de masina la cateva luni dupa lansarea ultimului album de studio “Dandy in the Underworld”.

Queen - Queen II (Full album 1974)

“Queen II” is the second studio album by the British rock band Queen. It was released on 8 March 1974 by EMI Records at midnight in the UK and by Elektra Records in the US. It was recorded at Trident Studios and Langham 1 Studios, London from February to August 1973 with co-producers Roy Thomas Baker and Robin Cable, and engineered by Mike Stone. The album is notable for its combination of a heavy rock sound with an art rock sensibility. It has been called "a pillar of grandiose, assaultive hard rock" by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Queen II is not a concept album but a collection of songs with a loose theme running throughout. The two sides of the original LP were labelled "Side White" and "Side Black" (instead of the conventional sides "A" and "B"), with corresponding photos of the band dressed in white or in black on either side of the record's label face. The white side has songs with a more emotional theme and the black side is almost entirely about fantasy, often with quite dark themes. Mick Rock's album cover photograph was frequently re-used by the band throughout its career, including the music videos for the songs "Bohemian Rhapsody" (1975), and "One Vision" (1985).
Released to an initially mixed critical reception, Queen II remains one of the band's lesser-known albums. Nonetheless, the album has retained a cult following since its release, has garnered praise from other musicians such as Axl Rose, Steve Vai and Billy Corgan, and is significant in being the first album to contain elements of the band's signature sound of multi-layered overdubs, vocal harmonies, and varied musical styles.

Smokey - Pass It Around (Full album 1975)

“Pass It Around” is the debut studio album by British rock band Smokey (later renamed Smokie), released in 1975.
The album features eleven original group songs and two Nicky Chinn / Mike Chapman compositions. The Chinn / Chapman written title track was chosen to be Smokie's debut single. "Pass It Around" / "Couldn't Live" was released on 21 March 1975 but failed to make the BBC Radio 1 playlist. The problem was playlist controllers who thought that the ambiguous lyrics might be seen as a reference to smoking marijuana. As a result, the single failed to reach the UK Top 50.
In order to promote “Pass It Around”, Smokie extensively tour Britain starting on 24 April 1975 as support act to Pilot, who scored a UK #1 hit with "January". Despite all the promotion activity, neither album nor single managed to chart in the UK.

In ciuda activitatii de promovare, nici albumul si nici single-ul nu au reusit sa intre in clasamente in Marea Britanie.

Queen - Sheer Heart Attack (Full album 1974)

“Sheer Heart Attack” is the third studio album by the British rock band Queen, released on 8 November 1974 by EMI Records in the United Kingdom and by Elektra Records in the United States. Digressing from the progressive themes featured on their first two albums, this album featured more pop-centric and conventional rock tracks and marked a step towards the "classic" Queen sound. It was produced by the band and Roy Thomas Baker and launched Queen to mainstream popularity in the UK and throughout the world.
After the release of “Queen II”, the group embarked on a promotional tour with Mott the Hoople. However, in the middle of the tour, Brian May was struck down with illness, forcing the entire tour to end early. Much of the album was written while May was recovering in hospital; nonetheless, the album's first single "Killer Queen" reached number 2 in the British charts and provided them with their first top 20 hit in the U.S., peaking at number 12 on the Billboard singles chart. “Sheer Heart Attack” was the first Queen album to hit the U.S. top 20, peaking at number 12 in 1975. The album has been acknowledged for containing "a wealth of outstanding hard rock guitar tracks". Retrospectively, it has been listed by multiple publications as one of the band's best works and has been deemed an essential glam rock album.
From 30 October 1974 to 1 May 1975, the album was promoted on tour. The tour consisted of three legs and 77 individual shows, and was the band's first world tour. The supporting bands consisted of Styx, Kansas, Hustler and Mahogany Rush.
On 8 November 2010, record company Universal Music announced a remastered and expanded reissue of the album set for release in May 2011. This as part of a new record deal between Queen and Universal Music, which meant Queen's association with EMI Records would come to an end after almost 40 years. All of Queen's studio catalog were reissued in 2011.

Totusi in mijlocul turneului Brian May s-a imbolnavit, ducand la scurtarea turneului. Cea mai mare parte a albumului a fost scrisa cand May era in spital la refacere; cu toate acestea primul single de pe album, “Killery Queen”, a atins locul 2 in clasamentele britanice si le-a furnizat si in Statele Unite locul 12 in clasamentul single-urilor de la Bilboard, fiind primul lor hit American de top 20. “Sheer Heart Attack” a fost primul album Queen care ajunge in top 20 in Statel Unite, atingand locul 12 in 1975.
