“Eagles” is the debut studio album by the American rock band the Eagles. The album was recorded at London's Olympic Studios with producer Glyn Johns and released in 1972. The album was an immediate success for the young band, reaching No. 22 on the charts and going platinum. Three singles were released from the album, each reaching the Top 40: "Take It Easy" (number 12), "Witchy Woman" (number 9), and "Peaceful Easy Feeling" (number 22). The band, starting with this album, played a major role in popularizing the country rock sound.
The album was ranked number 368 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time published in 2012. The single "Take It Easy" is part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame "500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll". This album was slated for Quadraphonic release and even given a Quadraphonic catalog number but it was never released in that format.

“Eagles” este albumul de studio de debut al trupei americane de rock Eagles. Albumul a fost inregistrat la Olympic Studios din Londra cu producatorul Glyn Johns si lansat in 1972. Albumul a fost un succes imediat pentru tanara trupa, atingand locul 22 in clasamente si mergand pentru platina. Trei single-uri au fost lansate de pe album, fiecare atingand Top 40: “Take It Easy: (nr. 12), “Witchy Woman” (nr. 9) si “Peaceful Easy Feeling” (nr. 22). Trupa, incepand cu acest album, a jucat un rol major in popularizarea sunetului de country rock.
Albumul a fost clasat pe locul 368 in lista de la Rolling Stone magazine a celor 500 cele mai bune albume din toate timpurile, publicata in 2012. Single-ul “Take It Easy” este parte din Rock and Rool Hall of Fame “500 de cantece care au dat forma rock and roll-ului”. “Creedence Clearwater Revival” is the debut studio album by American rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival, released in 1968.
While "Suzie Q" proved to be a hit, the band had played for years as the Golliwogs in the early 1960s, releasing numerous singles before achieving success in the pop world. In 1967, Saul Zaentz bought Fantasy Records and offered the band a chance to record a full-length album on the condition that they change their name. Having never liked 'the Golliwogs', in part because of the racial charge of the name, the four readily agreed, coming up with Creedence Clearwater Revival. In Hank Bordowitz's book Bad Moon Rising: The Unauthorized History of Creedence Clearwater Revival, bassist Stu Cook is quoted, "Fogerty, Cook, Clifford and Fogerty signed a publishing agreement with one of Fantasy's companies that gave up rights to copyright ownership...Lennon and McCartney never owned the copyrights to their compositions, either. When you're on the bottom, you make the best deal you can." John Fogerty took charge of the group artistically, writing all of the band's fourteen hit records and assuming the roles of singer, guitarist, producer and arranger of nearly everything that appeared on Creedence's seven studio albums.
On AllMusic the album received 4 stars (out of 5), with Stephen Thomas Erlewine stating: "Released in the summer of 1968 - a year after the “Summer of Love”, but still in the thick of the Age of Aquarius - Creedence Clearwater Revival's self-titled debut album was gloriously out-of-step with the times, teeming with John Fogerty's Americana fascinations."

In timp ce “Suzie Q” a dovedit sa fie un hit, trupa cantase ani de zile sub numele de Golliwogs devreme in anii ’60, lansand numeroase single-uri inainte de a atinge succesul in lumea pop. In 1967 Saul Zaents a cumparat Fantasy Records si a oferit trupei sansa de a inregistra un album de lungime complete cu conditia ca ei sa-si schimbe numele. Cum nu le placuse niciodata “the Golliwogs”, in parte datorita conotatiilor rasiste ale numelui, cei patru au acceptat imediat, venind cu numele de Creedence Clearwater Revival. In cartea “Bad Moon Rising: The Unauthorized History of Creedence Clearwater Revival” a lui Hank Bordowitz, basistul Stu Cook este citat: “Fogerty, Cook, Clifford si Fogerty au semnat un accord de publicare cu una din companiile de la Fantasy prin care au cedat drepturile de autor…Lennon si McCartney nu au avut nici ei niciodata drepturile compozitiilor lor. Cand esti la fund, faci targul cel mai bun pe care poti sa-l faci.” John Fogerty a preluat conducerea grupului artistic, scriindd toate cele 14 slagare ale trupei, asumandu-si rolul de vocalist, chitarist, producator si aranjor pentru aproape tot ce a aparut pe cele sapte albume de studio Creedence Clearwater Revival.
La AllMusic albumul a primit 4 stele (din 5) cu Stephen Thomas Erlewine consemnand: “Lansat in vara lui 1968- la un an dupa “Summer of Love” (album cu hit-uri din 1967 a diversilor artisti) , dar in epoca varsatorului, albumul eponim de debut al celor de la Creedence Clearwater Revival a fost cu glorie in afara vremurilor, rodind din  fascinatiile Americana ale lui Fogerty”.
