Deep Purple -Bananas (Full album 2003)

“Bananas” is the 17th studio album by English rock band Deep Purple, released on 9 September 2003 via EMI Records and on 7 October 2003 via Sanctuary Records in the US. It is the first album to feature Don Airey on organ and keyboards, replacing founding member Jon Lord.
The album was recorded in Los Angeles during January and February 2003. It is also notable as being the first Ian Gillan-fronted Deep Purple album to make use of backing vocals other than Gillan's own (since the 1972 sessions for the song Woman From Tokyo in Germany which featured Jon Lord and Roger Glover singing backing vocals) with the song "Haunted" featuring Beth Hart. The album includes "Contact Lost", a short slow instrumental about the Space Shuttle Columbia astronauts, written by guitarist Steve Morse when he heard the news of the crash.
“Bananas” charted well, despite lack of media exposure, especially in Europe and South America (notably at Germany and Argentina, where it peaked in the top 10).

“Bananas” este al 17-lea album de studioal trupei engleze de rock Deep Purple, lansat la 9 septembrie 2003 prin EMI Records si la 7 octombrie 2003 prin Sanctuary records in Statele Unite. Este primul album cu Don Airey la orga si claviaturi, inlocuindu-l pe membrul fondator Jon Lord.
Albumul a fost inregistrat in Los Angeles in ianuarie si februarie 2003. Este de asemenea notabil ca fiind primul album in care Ian Gillan foloseste voci secundare altele decat propria sa voce (doar in 1972 la sesiunile de inregistrare pentru Woman From Tokyo, in Germania, in care Jon Lord si Roger Glover au fost voci secundare), in cantecul “Haunted” in care apare Beth Hart. Albumul include si “Contact Lost”, o piesa instrumental scurta despre naveta spatiala Columbia si astronautii sai, scrisa de chitaristul Steve Morse cand a auzit sterile despre prabusire.
“Bananas” s-a clasat bine in topuri, in ciuda slabei expuneri in media, in special in Europa si America de sud (notabil a fost in Germania si Argentina, unde a ajuns in top 10).
